HOW TO SURVIVE HIGH SCHOOL
By Lindelwa Tshabalala

Beginning high school seems to be one of the most
challenging experiences for all freshmen since it a new world,
or so they say? High school is all about making choices; it prepares
you for collage or better yet, life!
First of all, to all you nervous grade eight learners…take a deep
breath this is not a court session but a place which elevates you
to either manhood or womanhood! A place for change and its up to you
to change for good or bad!
These are five important points to know during the next five
years of your high school years.

Friends: You can’t choose your family Members but you can
defiantly choose
Friends. In high school having the right friends is highly
important so try by all means to ‘scheme’ good people, you
don’t Necessary need to share hobbies with them but as long
as you feel free supported and loved. That’s it!
School: It won’t be the same as primary school , there is lot
of work
as the grades grow but try not to be not too serious because more
challenging grades will come! Give yourself enough time to learn
and begin eyeing on the subjects you like.
Respect: This is very important. You need to respect yourself, your
friends, family, community and even your schoolmates. This will help
you finish school sooner and easier.
Love : This might be personal but sure does affect you everyday.
Best thing you can do for yourself is not to search for love in loveless
places. Rather wait for love than to search for it. It will come, just
sooner or later…Remember now you still a student, what matters the
most is your schoolwork. If you love yourself enough you will be loved
in more pleasant ways, that include looking for popularity, you don’t
have to be disrespectful to gain popularity among your peers and community.
Fun: Have fun everyday, ungazoba serious…This is a lifetime
opportunity, loosen up. Learn to swallow your ego now and ask for
help. Participate in life , you only got five years to be a kid
and learn from the mistakes you might make. ENJOY!
